the-unpopular-opinions: You are what you listen to, watch, read, and wear. Those are forms of self expression so your personality is supposed to (and usually does) shine through your taste in such things. It’s kind of stupid when you start voicing opinions and expecting not to be judged because I’m gonna think “Well what the fuck else am I suppose to base an assessment of you on?” True, when you say you like The Notebook and Taylor Swift, I can only rightfully assume so much (which isn’t enough to base any valid opinion on), but I can usually tell whether I’m going to like you or not based on you taste in things.  Why? Cause think about it, people’s morals, political positions, social opinions, and all kinds of things are represented in their taste. You’re listening to “Anarchy in the UK”? Okay. That’s a political opinion. You think “Harry Potter” is the best book ever written? That says something about you. You’re wearing a “That’s so gay is no okay shirt?” That also says something about you. People have every right to judge you on these things.
